Description
Public Relations
is all about building relationships and productive lines of
communication between a business and its audiences. Its primary vehicle
is the media, with the goal being to generate positive publicity and
promotion for a company’s products and or services
– resulting (of course) in more sales and more customers. Our
session this month will discuss the many interpretations and uses of PR
– it is often not clear where it fits in a
company’s strategy, especially in relation to branding,
advertising and marketing.
PR can be a very effective tool for companies of all sizes and at all
stages of growth. And it can be equally effective as a positive
promotion tool and as a tool to manage a crisis, mitigate extreme risk,
and reverse negative publicity. Join us at this monthly dinner to learn
how a public relations strategy can help you in your business.
Speaker:
Ann Taylor brings
more than 17 years of experience providing innovative external affairs
strategy, media relations, corporate reputation and image, and expert
crisis communications counsel. She spearheaded global brand development
for the R&D arm of a major petrochemical company. She also
developed external communications and market positioning for a national
mortgage banking firm. Ann has worked with leading real estate,
financial services and health care firms. She has been quoted or
published on marketing communications and public relations topics in:
Inc. Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Houston Business Journal,
Houston Chronicle, the Hartford Courant, Office & Commercial
Real Estate Magazine, and Glamour. Ann launched a successful PR firm,
growing it to #15 on the Houston Business Journal’s list of
the Top 20 PR firms. She is a graduate of Rice University.
